Omega Opens Vancouver Boutique In Preparation For 2010 Winter Olympic Games

With the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics just over two months away, Swiss watchmaker Omega is taking all steps to ensure that its presence is well-established beyond even the Games itself, where it has served as Official Timekeeper since 1932. The historic brand responsible for such iconic luxury timepieces as the Speedmaster Professional chronograph, the Constellation collection, and the Central Tourbillon just concluded the ribbon cutting events for an impressive boutique right on the ground floor of Vancouver's prestigious Fairmont Hotel. It becomes the fourth North American boutique for Omega watches, joining established stores in New York City, Beverly Hills, and Mexico City, and is positioned to serve the throngs of visitors which will flock to British Columbia from around the globe to witness the Olympics.

In addition to a comprehensive collection of Omega watches expected by brand fans and connoisseurs, the Vancouver boutique will showcase those Omega models which pay homage to the Olympic Games. Included in these thematic offerings is the special edition Seamaster Professional 300M Diver "Vancouver 2010" watch announced earlier in 2009; among other commemorative details, this stainless steel Omega timepiece presents a red anodized bezel insert and white dial to honor the colors of the Canadian flag. According to a press statement from Omega, the boutique is the first exclusive brand venue in Canada to offer customers the updated Constellation range of watches for both women and men.

However, exclusive watches are not the only Omega products which are to be on display. A collection of fine leather products are available for sale, in addition to Omega's very first foray into the world of perfumery, "Aqua Terra Eau de Toilette pour Homme". Omega representatives from Switzerland and other countries will give international guests support and assistance in a rainbow of languages. Visitors curious about the inner secrets of mechanical watches will appreciate the presence of a strategically placed workbench; here, an Omega master watchmaker will be demonstrating various aspects of the horological crafts in clear view.

Omega's Vancouver boutique will be open throughout the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, and feature visits from various participating athletes that are Omega brand ambassadors. The boutique opening ceremonies witnessed the attendance by two of Canada's most accomplished skiers: Steve Podborksi, bronze medalist in the downhill from the 1980 Olympic Games, and Paralympian Karolina Wisniewska, a 6-time medalist and inductee into the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame.
