After a successful 2007 which saw the launch of a new collection and the start of retail operations under the Wyler Genève brand, the prestige Swiss watchmaker famous for its anti-shock case now presents new models in its limited-edition Chronograph collection as a prelude to a major new launch for the 2008 Baselworld show.
Wyler Genève achieved some crucial milestones in 2007, the first of which was the presentation of its new collection at the 2007 Baselworld show. This was soon followed by the opening up of an international distribution network, starting with Latin America and the Caribbean, the USA, the Middle East and selected countries in Europe. To coincide with the arrival of the Paris-Beijing expedition in Beijing in September, the Brand> also organized a special Asian launch to open up the markets of Greater China (China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), Malaysia and Singapore. By the end of the year, Wyler Genève had also opened up the markets in the former countries of the Soviet Union.

In addition to steady sales of the new chronograph models throughout the year, Wyler Genève was especially pleased with the popularity of its tourbillon models. The limited edition of 8 models each in gold, titanium and platinum, as well as a special series of 8 models for the Paris-Beijing expedition, was sold out well before the end of the year. Equally popular was the limited edition of 25 "Wyler-Zagato" watches featuring the unmistakable signature of Atelier Zagato and a new manufacture movement with 8-day power reserve.
Wyler Genève's unique anti-shock case forms the basis for the triple protection system found on the limited-edition Chronographs, together with a special crown protector and the original unbreakable Incaflex balance wheel in the movement. Incaflex was invented by company founder Paul Wyler in 1927 and its effectiveness was demonstrated by throwing Wyler timepieces off the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 1956. It now makes its final appearance in the limited-edition Wyler Genève chronograph as a reminder of Wyler's pioneering work in the shock resistance of timepieces.
The movement encased within the shock-absorbing case inside a titanium container is a self-winding chronograph with a 42-hour power reserve. It bears a clear Wyler Genève signature, visible through the transparent case back in the form of a personalized drilled black rotor with rhodium-plated bevels and a Wyler Genève engraving. The separate case-back section securing the movement container and integrated rubber Bracelet is engraved with the watch's serial number and the inscription of the limited edition number in the form "INCAFLEX 0000 of 3999." |
