DeWitt Repetition Minutes Tourbillon GMT Antipode Watch

With the introduction of the Repetition Minutes Tourbillon GMT Antipode, Swiss watchmaker DeWitt advances its reputation for exceptional achievements in haute horlogerie.  Remarkable for its exceptional trio of complications animated by a single fully integrated mechanical movement, the Antipode timepiece presents its virtuoso functions on a two-faced case with a sophisticated and distinctive axle-based rotation system.

The DeWitt Repetition Minutes Tourbillon GMT Antipode watch is crafted from an alluring combination of polished white gold and titanium. DeWitt's extremely intricate imperial columns face both inwards and outwards on the bezel, enhancing the contemporary design of the Antipode case and providing an aesthetic connection to other DeWitt timepieces. A dedicated axle enables the 360-degree rotation of the case when the wearer presses the lugs at 12 and 6 o'clock; one dial displays the primary time display and the tourbillon cage, while the second presents the GMT function with hours and minutes of a second time zone.  Opposite the futuristic winding crown with its imposing shoulders is the slide piece for the minute repeater.  Whenever this piece is activated, the complex minute repeater function translates the time displayed on the dial into an exacting sequence of charming tones indicating the hours, quarter hours, and the individual minutes.

A semi-transparent allow tantalizing glimpses of the extremely complex movement, which is comprised of hundreds of individual parts, each entirely hand-finished. From an aesthetic viewpoint, the dial with the primary time display offers the most opulent visual spectacle; in addition to the continuously revolving tourbillon cage and its perfectly finished constellation of minuscule components, the eye can take in the breathtakingly exact movements of the toothed racks and cams below the dial during strike sequences of the repeater. The task of assembling each movement in entirety and bringing it to operational perfection rests in the hands of one watchmaker.
