Okalys-Corum had skilfully mastered the inshore route and won first place in the challenge. At the end of the weekend, the Okalys-Corum team also secured third place in the general classification of the Julius Baer Challenge.

The fourth regatta of the Julius Baer Challenge, Genève-Rolle-Genève is the seasons “classic” at which hundreds of sailors assemble on many different boat classes. It is also the final try out before the famous Bol d’Or Mirabaud presented by Corum. Starting at 2pm on the lake around Yacht Club Geneva, on a sixty kilometre route, the Genève-Rolle-Genève does not guarantee a daylight finish to the D35, except when the weather is excellent: the record is 2h 19min and dates from 1990.

Okalys-Corum’s first place has boosted the belief and confidence of the team and points to a weekend filled with excitement. The much anticipated conclusion of Bol d’Or Mirabaud presented by Corum will take place on June 12th at 10am at the Yacht Club Geneva.

Antonio Calce, CEO of Corum declared: “We are really proud of this first victory which has happened at a pinnacle point in the season. Okalys-Corum team has once again combined high performance, and experience, which has produced an outstanding time lead. Next weekend will be a very important challenge; if our team wins the Bol d’Or Mirabaud presented by Corum, Nicolas Grange and his team will have won the race for the third time. I invite all sailing enthusiasts to follow the race in real-time and even to participate to the Bol d’Or Mirabaud presented by Corum aboard a virtual boat on our website www.corum.ch”.

Nicolas Grange declared: “We had a very successful race. Despite a bad start we did not make any mistakes. As we tried to pull away from the other competitors, we raced alongside the Swiss coast as far as possible. When Loïck Peyron is aboard we are all better. He gives us the self-confidence we miss when he is absent, it is true, Loïck is a member of our dream team!”.
