Villemont's Tribute to Roald Amundsen
 The AMUNDSEN collection is Jørgen Amundsen's personal tribute to Roald Amundsen, arguably the greatest explorer of all time, and is dedicated to all men who have the courage and determination to live out their dreams. In terms of movement, the collection revolves around the Solar Navigation System, a unique and exclusive navigation system. It is during an exploration to the North Pole that Jørgen Amundsen (great great nephew of Roald Amundsen and Creative Director of Villemont) had the idea of incorporating a navigation system into a watch, which enables one to easily locate the cardinal points according to the position of the sun. |
 The ARCTIC NAVIGATION SYSTEM is the latest model of the AMUNDSEN collection. It is proposed in an extra-red gold and black-coated titanium case as well as in black-coated titanium, and in steel and black-coated titanium. This sportive timepiece houses a self-winding chronograph. Its bi-directional rotating bezel allows its owner to find the cardinal points (indicated on the inner bezel) at any time. In daylight by simply positioning the hour on the 24h scale of the bi-directional bezel towards the hour hand, the wearer will immediately know where the sun sits at that precise time. For example, at 5 am, the sun sits in the North-East. |
 At night, a drawing of the stars on the back will help him to find his North. In the Northern hemisphere, the North Star (Ursula Major) points at north and in the Southern hemisphere, the Southern Cross will help him to find the South. |
